Templates
A template is the HubSpot marketing email template your content renders into. mxAURA writes the composed content into contact properties; the template reads those properties as personalization tokens.
The template must exist in the sending portal. When an agency distributes a campaign to a client, the client portal needs its own copy of the template; Distribution creates it (see Distributing to clients).
Block definitions
Press Compose Block on a section to make it a block definition: its fields become reusable content you fill in on the Blocks page (Client Summary, Partner Summary...) and pick per campaign pool row. Click the Block: name badge to rename it; UnBlock turns it back into a plain section (refused while a campaign row, message or rotation uses it). See Blocks: one pool, different content per audience.
If empty
Each field's If empty value is sent when a message leaves that field empty. HubSpot's own fallback shows as the hint.
Search and sharing fields (hub templates)
In a hub template's card mapping, SEO title, Meta description and Share image tell the published page which fields to use for its title in search results, its description and the picture shown when it is shared; empty ones fall back to the title, the summary and the main image. Long social post and Short social post are where the AI writes the article's social posts.
A clone keeps its setup. Clone an email in HubSpot and import the copy: if the original is already a template here, the copy takes its field names, types, defaults and If empty values, sections and order (v3.1.957). Matched by HubSpot's clone link, the name ("X (Clone)", "Copy of X") or the same fields; the import line says which template it copied. Blocks are not copied: press Compose Block on the sections that need one. For a template imported bare, open it and press Copy setup to pick the template to copy from.
