Aura Marketing: plain and true
Aura Marketing™ is the method mxAURA is built on. Two words cover it: plain and true.
The claim
Every message must be true and worth reading even if the reader never buys.
That one line is the test. A message that only works on the people who buy has spent everyone else's attention to get there. A message that teaches the reader something real, about their own situation, is worth sending to the people who say no as well. They are still buyers next year.
The reflection test
A technique is allowed only if the message still works after the reader understands exactly what it did.
Showing a reader a peer's result still works once they know why we showed it. Made-up scarcity ("only three spots left") stops working the moment they see it was made up. So does flattery, a fake "Re:", a question that assumes their pain, or a deadline nobody set. The test keeps what resonates and throws out what manipulates. A reader who has been sold to for twenty years can feel the difference in the first sentence.
Find, then confirm
You should not have to write a strategy to get one. Give mxAURA your site and your HubSpot connection and it reads what is already there: what you say, who your customers are, what proves it, where your contacts sit. You confirm what it found and correct what it got wrong. You do not fill in long forms. Onboarding is being rebuilt around this rule now; pieces of it already run in Targets and the Advisor.
Old ideas, a new reader
None of this is new, and we say so. Hopkins, Ogilvy, Schwartz, Godin, Minto and Toulmin wrote it down between 1923 and the 1990s: be specific, open where the reader is, teach before you ask, put the answer first, back every claim. What changed is the reader and the machine. Today's buyer spots machine-written mail in a glance and checks before trusting. And software can now hold the old discipline on every message, without a copywriter reading each one.
What it looks like in mxAURA
- The Composer writes each email from a short brief (the reader's situation, one true thing with its grounds, a reason only if there is one, one plain ask), and the subject last.
- Three separate readers score every draft on nine lines before you see it. They never rewrite; a line fails only where they can point at the words. Their numbers are called critic scores until they are calibrated against people (see the quality test).
- The tells of machine writing, cold-email habits and borrowed hype are counted in code, not guessed at.
- When a contact's lifecycle stage moves after a message, Results says the stage moved after it, never that the message caused it.
The method is built on these ideas. It is not proven to beat anything yet, and we will not say it is until our own live test is in.
Why it sits on top of HubSpot
HubSpot is very good at owning contacts, sending, timing and compliance. It has no composition layer. mxAURA supplies that layer and leaves the rest alone. You keep your CRM and you gain the composition.
