AI Assist on an article

AI Assist drafts an article from the account's positioning, the brand's written brief, and the sources you attach, then reviews the draft against a rubric before you see it.

Choosing what it writes from

The dialog asks for a brief, and which Positioning and Brand to write for. The only (or most recently updated) positioning is preselected. The Brand list shows the account's default Brand Kit first, marked (Default); any other brands follow. Both go into the prompt as your own reference material, never as instructions.

Reference material sits under the brief. Press Add to open it: Links on the left (paste one or several, then Add or Enter) and Documents on the right (Add opens the Library, where you can also upload). The first document is read in full. Each link's page is read too: the article text on it (up to about 2,300 words a link, the first five links) goes to the AI as source material for both the outline and the draft. A dot on each link shows the result: green when its text was read, orange when it could not be (the site blocks automated readers, needs a login, or builds the page in the browser). A draft cannot use a link it could not read, and says so on the article's reference list. For those, paste the text into the brief or save the page as a PDF and add it under Documents. A source document can be up to 25 MB. It is turned into text first, and about the first 24 pages of text are read, so put the part that matters at the front or attach just that part. A scanned PDF (pictures of pages, no text) has to be under 10 MB.

If the draft fails

The run stops and the drafting form comes back with everything you entered and the reason at the top. Change what is needed and press Draft again. The other items you ticked (social posts, SEO, the answer layer) wait for the draft, because they are written from it.

What it produces

Subtitle, body and, last, a Title written from the finished piece. SEO title and description come from the same pass. Untitled is never used as a working title.

What it will not do

Flags

After a draft, the editor marks anything worth a look: a link off your sites, an email address not on your domain, a phone number the material did not contain, a phrase from the never-say list in the Account Brief. Nothing is removed; you decide.

Budget

Every AI action spends the account's monthly AI budget and is listed in the AI Queue with its cost, including the in-app help (Ask mxAURA) and Radar. When the budget is spent, AI Assist pauses until the next month or a top-up.

A new account that has not connected HubSpot starts with a smaller allowance, for its first two weeks or until HubSpot is connected (Settings, Integrations), whichever comes first. It keeps throwaway sign-ups from spending AI on mxAURA's account.

The in-app help answers questions about mxAURA and your account only. It turns down anything else (general questions, code, writing unrelated to your account).

When AI jobs fail, Home shows N AI jobs failed this week. Click it to open the AI Queue on just those failures: each job, when it ran and the problem it hit, with Retry where it applies. A line at the top counts them by kind and lists the reasons that recur. Dismissed failures are included, so the list always matches the count.

AI drafts from the API or an assistant

A draft started through the public API or the MCP connector for an article that already has content (or is published) never replaces what is there. It waits on the article as a review draft; whoever is running the integration applies it (all of it or chosen fields) or discards it. The editor's own AI Assist works as before.

Keeping an article's address

When an article is created through the API with a slug, that slug is kept exactly. If another article already uses it, nothing is created and the call says which article has it, so a migration never quietly turns /insights/my-article/ into /insights/my-article-2/.

Social posts

Generate writes a long post for LinkedIn and a short one for X. The long post is 600 to 1,300 characters (LinkedIn shows the first couple of lines before "see more", so it opens with a line that earns the click) and ends by inviting the reader to the full article. The article's address is added under both posts automatically once the article is placed in a hub that is on a site, so it is always the real link. Posts, the lead answer and FAQs follow the firm's positions from your Identity, not only the one article, and words on your never-say list send the AI back for one more pass; anything left is flagged for you.

AI Assist on many articles

On the Articles list, tick the articles and press AI Assist. It fills what they are missing: search metadata, social posts, the lead answer and FAQs. The whole selection runs as one job in the background, one article after another, and writes only what is empty (search metadata is rewritten when you tick Rewrite). You can leave the page or close the browser. AI Queue at the top of every page shows how far it has got ("34 of 126 articles"), lets you cancel it, and you get a notification when it is done, naming any article it could not do. What it has already written stays if you cancel. One such run at a time per account.
