How agencies and clients work

Every account is a company. An agency is a company with the agency designation: it does everything a company does, with its own HubSpot portal, pools, campaigns and flows, and can also invite clients and assign resources to them. Client is a relationship, not a kind of account: any company, an agency included, can be a client of an agency. Each client has its own HubSpot portal, sender and branding. The agency invites a client, the client accepts (or the agency creates the account), and from then on the agency can assign campaigns, flows and hubs to it.

Distribute, don't duplicate: the agency keeps one copy; each client gets a live assignment that resolves to the client's own sender, branding and portal at send time.

Work in a client's account

Clients, open a client, Work in this account. A new tab opens inside the client's own account, with a banner naming your agency. There you build the client's Baseline, Positioning, Evidence and Radar exactly as the client would: everything is saved in the client's account and is theirs, and they see it as soon as it is saved. You can read the rest of the account; campaigns, senders, HubSpot, people and billing stay the client's to change. AI drafting in that tab uses the client's allowance.

Access follows the relationship: end it (Disconnect, or Remove client) and the tab stops working within a minute, and every assignment ends with it: campaigns, flows and hubs. Nothing is deleted, and hubs the client owns itself are not affected. Assigning anything needs the relationship to be active. The client's Activity shows when your agency opened the account.

Designate an account as an agency

The owner opens Account and, under Designation, chooses Designate as agency. Nothing moves: the same account, people, HubSpot connection and data carry on, and the Clients features switch on. Return to company switches them off again, once the agency has no clients. New accounts always start as a company.

Your own use and your clients'. An agency's pools, campaigns and flows work in its own portal exactly as a company's do. A flow becomes a client flow once you assign it to a client: from then on its conditions use default HubSpot properties only (so they match in every client portal), it runs in the clients' portals, and enrollments in your own portal are tests. To run the same program for yourself as well, use a second flow on the same campaign. You can assign only what your agency owns, and only to a client whose relationship is active.

The same Agency page is where a company sees the agencies that manage it and accepts an agency's invitation.
